October 5th IPW VS NPW
Oct. 13th, 2008 | 04:02 pm
This is the review from my match from the One, The Only, Wizard of ID Gordo. It is a very good review and I am proud to be the new IPW Heavyweight Champion. Take it away Gordo. Go Time.
IPW Heavyweight Championship: "Mr One Night Stand" Steve Kruz (C) w/ "Infamous One" Jay Moore vs "Go Time" Chris Laplante
Kruz stated during the earlier "Last Call" segment that he had no desire to wrestle Laplante and it seemed he hadn't changed his mind about that since he spent a good 2 minutes stalling outside prior to the match. Fans were all over him about being a chicken and this led to some pretty funny interactions as the Champ looked anything but the cool, suave player his faux Chippendales Dancer entrance gear suggested he was. When Kruz finally mounted the apron, Laplante had waited long enough and flipped him in over the ropes. Ref Renda called for the bell as soon as Kruz cleared the top rope, as desirous as the rest of us to see the main event officially get underway.
Kruz, still wearing his title belt, was sent reeling from one side of the ring to the other thanks to the enraged challenger unleashing a barrage of slams, tosses & strikes. Laplante stripped away Kruz's entrance clothes as the Champ concentrated more on trying to flee the ring than defend himself or mount a counter offensive while the "Infamous One," Jay Moore, could do little but squawk ineffectually at ringside. It was kind of a shock to see the normally squeaky clean Laplante acting like a wild man - he even choked Kruz with his own pants!
The Champ was desperate to escape and when Ref Renda broke up the illegal choke he lunged through the ropes toward the only friend he had in the building. He almost made it too. Kruz was halfway out of the ring between the 1st and 2nd rope when Moore grabbed his hands to pull him to safety at the exact instant Laplante grabbed his trunks in an effort to keep him from escaping. The ensuing tug of war exposed enough of Kruz's backside to reveal that Phil Latio isn't the only male wrestler with a penchant for thong underwear. Ref Renda called for the break and "Go Time" released Kruz's trunks and the embare-assed "Mr One Night Stand" slithered out of the ring into the relative comfort of his manager's embrace.
Kruz took his time regaining his composure while Laplante grew increasingly impatient in the ring, stepping towards the ropes and forcing Renda to break the count while Moore screamed "Keep him BACK!" Then, with surprising speed and agility, Kruz took advantage of Laplante being momentarily blocked by Renda's ring positioning to scoot to the other side, jump onto the apron and scale the corner buckles. Laplante was almost caught out by the quickness of Kruz's planned counter attack but was able to get past Renda and bump against the ropes which succeeded in knocking the Champ off balance... Kruz's taint-first landing on the top rope probably pushed his thong a lot deeper than comfort would allow and he fell into the ring hard. "Go Time" charged recklessly at his foe and paid the price because, while the thong-stuffing drop on the ropes might have left Kruz wedgied, it did nothing to hinder his lateral movement. He easily side stepped the charging Laplante and it was the challenger who dropped to the mat clutching his leg in agony.
Thus, the tide of the match turned and Kruz switched from panicked, cowardly villian to focused, predatory hunter. He immediately targeted the injured leg of Laplante with a series of blows; the majority of which were stiff kicks. With the challenger almost imobilized on the mat Kruz paused to taunt him verbally - "Get up! It's GO TIME Laplante! Get UP!" - as Jay Moore danced and jerked with sadistic glee at ringside like some velour-clad praying mantis afflicted with the St Vita's Dance.
"Go Time" continued to endure a lengthy assault on the injured limb and was just as powerless to defend against a flurry of punches to the head when Kruz decided to hit some other body part for a change. Once the challenger was suficiently imobilized to his satisfaction, the Champ locked on a figure-4; wisely positioning himself near enough the ropes so the devious and sneaky Moore could assist with added leverage at every opportunity. Laplante eventually made the ropes but it brought little relief as Kruz locked the figure-4 right back on.
Laplante struggled just to keep his shoulders off the mat as he suffered in the painful leghold applied by Kruz. It began to look like "Mr One Night Stand" was on the verge of turning "Go Time" into "Mr Can't Stand at All." Fans chanted Laplante's name over and over as he twisted his body to lift one shoulder off the mat then fell limp...only an inch away from being pinned. Ref Renda moved in to check the arm as Moore screamed He's Out! He's finished! and fans increased the tempo and volume of vocal support for Laplante and his quest to bring the IPW title back to its home.
Once... twice the arm of Laplante fell limply to the mat but on the third and possibly match-ending final time "Go Time's" arm stiffened and reversed direction just before impact. Kruz had a look of shock on his face. Laplante turned his face skyward and grimaced as he raised his arm high, his hand now a clenched fist of defiance. Fans exploded in cheers. Moore's face turned so red with rage and shock that it looked like every blood vessel in his head had exploded as Laplante gave forth a mighty surge of energy and rolled Kruz over to reverse the hold. The Champ wasted no time in grabbing the ropes to force the break. Kruz was quick to his feet; Laplante lay almost motionless as if that one burst of strength had sapped whatever reserves he had left. Kruz exchanged confident smiles with Moore as he bent to drag Laplante up off the canvas and that simple arrogance-induced lapse in concentration cost him the match and the IPW Heavyweight Championship because "Go Time" surprised him with a small package for the pin.
Everyone was shocked by the sudden ending to the match but only the now ex-champ Kruz and his manager were upset about it. They set upon the new champ like rabid dogs until, to everyone's amazement, "Asian Nightmare" Kwan Chang raced out with kendo stick in hand to make the save. Kruz and Moore beat a hasty retreat to the locker room as Kwan led fans in a chant of "I-P-DUB! I-P-DUB!"
Kwan helped a still discombobulated Laplante to his feet and raised his arm in victory as "Go Time" clutched the IPW title belt to his chest. It was a surreal moment that popped like a bubble seconds later when the "Asian Nightmare" returned to form and smashed the new champ over the head with his kendo stick. The fans in the 'rowdy' corner saw that coming long before Laplante did (if he even saw it at all) because Kwan is well known as a sneaky, treacherous, cruel and nightmarish type of guy. He stood over the fallen Laplante and drew his thumb across his throat with one hand as he raised the IPW belt high with the other. When Kwan looked to be thinking about inflicting even more damage on the exhausted "Go Time", IPW promoter Mike O'Shea jumped up onto the apron and unleashed a short verbal barrage at Chang which I think included a warning that if Kwan laid one more finger on Laplante or ANYthing on O'Shea he was banned from IPW. And there was maybe something about Kwan getting a future title shot too. The "Asian Nightmare" left the ring and O'Shea thanked fans for coming to the show.
Bell to bell the main event of the show was 9 minutes. Add to that the 3-4 minutes of entrances & stalling prior to the bell and the Kwan/Laplante/O'Shea "situation" that closed the show and you've got 15 minutes of good time entertainment and combat. Darn fun stuff. I think all the fans that were there would agree with that. A relatively short match that had drama, tension, competitiveness and some great laughs too.
The biggest "move" of the match was Laplante using the top rope to flip a reluctant Kruz into the ring! (And... technically, the match started in the middle of that move so... I don't know what that means.) I guess maybe the match just didn't need any "big" moves to be a success. The guys in it - all FOUR guys - delivered a solid little drama; using minimal 'props' to build a compelling story on the foundation of a tried and true formula: good versus bad. I admit that's my opinion. None of the fans I talked to after the match offered any such detailed assessments. They were too busy saying "F**king good show!" and other things along that line.

Quinson Valentino
Sep. 25th, 2008 | 09:32 pm
I just wanted to take the time and say Thank you to Quinson Valentino aka DAVE for helping me become a better pro wrestler over the years. Dave recently announced his retirement from this great sport and will be a huge loss in quite a few locker rooms. He had an act and mastered his craft in this business.
I remember our first of many encounters and with his guidance and trust in me I gained confidence that I can stay in the ring with anyone. Dave you are like a brother to me and I will miss you alot. I hope you get whatever you want out of life and good luck to you and your future endeavors. Once again thank you for everything. Go Time

RWI September 20th
Sep. 25th, 2008 | 09:25 pm
I made my way to Knights Of Columbus Hall in Welland Ontario. I was a guest on the bottom line hosted by The Sniper Randy Vahn. We became a tag team unit because we both have a desire for gold and the tag team division is having a tournament to be crowned the 1st ever RWI Tag Champs.
Our victims were CK Sexx and Sexxxy Eddy. Sniper and I worked pretty good together as a unit and it is just a matter of time before we capture the championships and start the slow destruction of RWI. That's right Chuck Simpson your business is going right down the toilet and you won't be able to stop it. Like I said in the promo on bottom line. You screwed Greg the ring announcer because you wouldn't pay him, you screwed Jay Moore because when he speaks, the truth hurts and you screwed me. When you screw me I don't go without a fight. I will bring RWI down and your livelihood with me. Go Time

September 14th TWA
Sep. 25th, 2008 | 09:20 pm
I made my debut with TWA at The TWA Coliseum and wrestled Troy Buchanon. We have had our matches in other areas and did not expect anything different but bringing everthing to the table. We both want TWA gold and we have to go past one another to do that. Troy resorted to some tactics that were let's say illegal. I managed to overcome them and fired him into the corner where he landed an elbow on my face. He scooped my legs out from under me and put his feet on the ropes for leverage and got the 1,2,3 on me. I hope to have a rematch with Buchanon future TWA shows. Go Time

September 13th IWE
Sep. 25th, 2008 | 09:14 pm
I walked into Hamilton Place and learned my opponent would be Quinson Valentino. I always look forward to these matches with Quinson because he brings the best out of me. I took this match personal because we did an interview the previous show at ch news and he said he has thrown me all around the world. I figured what an opportunity to close his mouth once and for all and beat him in his old hometown.
We were like two pitbulls going back and forth hitting a variety of moves on each other and raised the intensity that could not be matched. Quionson landed his neckbreaker on me and I managed to dig deep within and kick out. He then superplexed me and I refused to stay down. Quinson went for one more neckbreaker and I swung around and school-boyed him for the 1,2,3. When that bell rang even though Quinson was yelling at the ref and the fans. I won his respect and that cannot be taken from me. Go Time

September 7th Pier 6
Sep. 25th, 2008 | 09:11 pm
Pier 6 wrestling returned to Pineapple Jack's in Rochester NY and my opponent was Pepper Parks. I had heard alot about this individual and believe me when I tell you this guy can go. Even though he resorted to dirty tactics I managed to hang in there with one of the best in Pier 6 wrestling. I look forward to another opportunity one day with Parks and I have a feeling it could be a different outcome. Go Time

RWI August 29th
Sep. 6th, 2008 | 06:37 pm
Rough Wrestling International returned to my homeown of Port Colborne at The City Tavern. I arrived and found out that I would not get a title shot vs. Kryss Thorn and my good buddy Quinson Valentino would. I had 2 things on my mind make sure thorn gets hurt and loses his precious RWI Championship.
Chuck Simpson called me out and wanted an explanation as to why I sided with Jay Moore and NVP. It was real simple. Jay Moore was the only one who called me when I was fired and he was suppose to be my rival? I came to realize that all I was to Chuck was the local kid that would sell tickets and put butts in the seats to watch his show. The money he made off me for the last 7 years kept RWI going and my payoffs let's just say was alot of donuts and it should be an honor that I am on his shows end quote. There is a saying I believe in and that is don't bite the hand that feeds you. I looked at Chuck as a 2nd father but my late father would never take advantage of so many people who would help him. Chuck would fire people or let's just say when they don't scratch his back anymore he won't scratch theirs. RWI is not what it used to be and the politics and ego's is going to be the destruction of this company. No Class Bobby Bass is my new manager thanks to the politics and ego's as I was saying earlier and Mr. Jay Moore in my opinion had an unfair exile.
I wrestled with Kwan Chang vs Otis Idol and Prophet in a tag team qualifier for the RWI Tag Championships. No Class Bobby Bass managed us and we were a well oil machine that could not be stopped. Otis Idol did get the ball rolling against us and the referee disqualified us say a 60 year old manager interfered? It was yet another bogus way to keep good talent down by the ego's and Kwan and I were screwed unjustly. When the match was over I knew I had bigger things to deal with.
I heard the bell sound for the main event and Kryss Thorn went out and I did what I said I would do. I took his knee out. That's what you get for trying to take my career away from me Kryss. Quinson would capture the championship and is now the 2nd person in RWI history to capture the belt for a second time next to yours truly. We laid a beating on Thorn after the match and Thorn's flaky partner CK Sexx made the save. It was turned to a tag match and Quinson and I wiped the floor with Canadian Extreme. Don't mess with us in the future Thorn and CK. This faction is here to stay. Go Time

August 24th AWA/NWX Port Dover
Aug. 26th, 2008 | 05:17 pm
I was scheduled to wrestle Troy Buchanon for the AWA/NWX Championship. I was looking forward to this because I have known Troy for 6 years and this was our first ever match in a singles capacity. The T.V. Championship means alot and I wanted to take it from him. We wrestled a stiff match and bringing the best out of each of us. I managed to escape some of his moves and he escaped some of mine as well. I moved out of the corner and school- boyed Buchanon for the 1,2,3. I grabbed the belt happy and excited as were the fans. The ring announcer then says to everyone that the T.V. Title did not change hands before the 10 minute mark so regardless even if i win after 10 minutes it does not matter. I found this to be a cheap way to keep a title for Buchanon. I now know to make sure I win just before the 10 minute mark. Go Time

August 16th Niagara Pro Wrestling Dunnville
Aug. 26th, 2008 | 05:07 pm
I was excited to hear that I would be wrestling Nick Paradise for a third time in 3 weeks. I feel a good rivalry starting here with him and both matches we already had were extremely competitive. Yet again the match was hard hitting back and forth. This time Paradise went for his pump-handle slam and I slipped his back and rolled him up for the 1,2,3. I am up 2-1 on him now and look forward to a match with him anywhere at anytime.
The Dunnville fair was Happy with Niagara Pro and wanted another show the same day at 7pm. I tagged with Scotty Turner against Nick Paradise and Troy Buchanon. This match was a very good old school tag match. Unfortunately Jay Moore was in there corner and he slipped a chain in the ring to Paradise who clocked Scotty with it. I chased Moore to the back and scrapped it out with Troy on the floor and I could not get in the ring in-time to make the save. I feel a rematch in the future would be sufficient as well. Go Time

August 9th IWE Hamilton
Aug. 26th, 2008 | 04:59 pm
IWE opened it's doors at Hamilton place and believe me when I tell you this. It was one of the most professional promotions I have ever worked for. The setup and building was first class and we were all taken care of. We were spoiled is what I am trying to say lol. I had the privilege of meeting Al Snow from WWE as well and he gave some really good advice to me as well.
My opponent was Nick Paradise and like at Pier 6 wrestling we had an amazing match. It was back and forth pillar to post and he managed to escape my Chris Cross-Face. He school boy-ed me with a hook of the trunks for the 1,2,3. I felt the robbery in this match but I know a rematch with this individual is imminent. I look forward to doing business with IWE in the future. Like I said before. First Class organization all the way. Go Time

August 8th Niagara Pro Wrestling Ridgeway
Aug. 26th, 2008 | 04:52 pm
I walked into Crystalridge Community Center and found out I was to square off vs. Blackjack Phoenix for the Niagara Pro Heavyweight Championship. I wanted to know if I can beat Phoenix since the last show we had. We brought everything to the table and either of us could have won this match. He tried pinning me as I did as well and he escaped the sharpshooter as well. Phoenix caught me with the kick and I kicked out this time. The only problem was he hit me with a clothesline from hell and I could not kick out. I want to congratulate Blackjack Phoenix for the hard fought match. You were the better man this night and brought the best out of me. Go Time

August 6th Wresting Supershow St. Catherines
Aug. 26th, 2008 | 04:45 pm
I walked into the Merriton Community Center looking forward to meeting The Honky Tonk Man and Luke from the Bushwackers. I watched these warriors as a kid and I felt like a kid again when I met them. I found out that Honky injured his hand and I was to replace him to square off against a good wrestler named MVP. We had a good match but unfortunately for yours truly I was defeated by an MVP bomb and believe me it is a painful finisher. Even though I lost that match I did give what I had and I look forward to another match with MVP one day. I'd like to thank Honky for his advice at Jack Ass-tor's after the show as well. I will remember it always. Go Time

August 3rd Pier 6 Wrestling Rochester NY
Aug. 26th, 2008 | 04:17 pm
I made my debut with Pier 6 Wrestling and must say I was impressed. They have T.V. time which is very hard to get nowadays. My opponent was Nick Paradise. This match was one of my favorite matches I have ever had. We fought hard and had a quick pace to the match. We both were going for the kill and I managed to counter the pump handle-slam and caught him my finisher the Chris Cross-Face and he tapped in the middle of the ring. The crowd was chanting GO-TIME GO-TIME. I have never done a show in 7 years where I made a debut anywhere where the crowd and I interacted after my first match. I look forward to more opportunity and fortune at Pier 6 Wrestling. Go Time

July 26th RWI Sherkston
Aug. 26th, 2008 | 03:57 pm
I walked into the sherkston resort where I heard that I will be getting a title shot vs. Kryss Thorn and I wanted it so bad I could taste it. I finally can get my revenge for my alleged best friend getting me fired from RWI and take what he holds so dear, the RWI Championship. My good buddy Jay Moore was in my corner and I had confidence in being the first ever 3 time RWI Champion.
Thorn and I put on a clinic and I hit a spear that nearly knocked him out cold. I was going in the corner for the kill when Ck Sexx came out of nowhere and speared me. Thorn Swan-toned me for the 1,2,3. I could not believe the antics that Thorn used to beat me that night. I hope I get my rematch against him. It will be a different outcome for sure. Go Time

July 25th RWI Port Colborne
Aug. 26th, 2008 | 03:48 pm
I received a phone call from my friend Chuck Simpson and he asked me if I would mind coming to the City Tavern and hand the rwi championship belt to Kryss Thorn in my hometown of Port Colborne. I said I would. I gave a very good speech how Thorn was the guy and hope he carries RWI to new horizon's and I could not since I am fired from the company. Quinson Valentino came out interrupted us and said Go Time you have potential but care too much about these fans I know you will do the right thing. I hit Thorn as hard as I could and lay-ed the boots to him with Quinson and Jay Moore. Ck Sexx came to help thorn and the tag match was on. Quinson and I vs Canadian Extreme.
Quinson and myself along with Jay Moore outsmarted Canadian Extreme for the 1,2,3. The match was high paced and hard fought. Brains will always beat brawn though and thus was the case in this match. I have to thank Jay Moore for taking the time to call me since I was fired from RWI unlike everybody else who I have dealt with for RWI the past 7 years. I realized who my true friends were now after all these years. Go Time

July 20 AWA/NWX
Aug. 26th, 2008 | 03:42 pm
I made my wrestling debut for AWA/NWX Pro Wrestling in Simcoe ON. My opponent was Retro Rex Atkins. He is another young worker with lots of potential and I wanted to impress the Simcoe fans and promoters with a victory. We battled back and forth and I caught Rex with my finisher the Chris Cross-face. He tapped in the middle of the ring. The fans and myself were happy with the victory and I have my sights set on Troy Buchanon who showed very little class beating up on the injured leg of James Masterson. I decided to run out and help him and challenge Buchanon for his precious TV Title. He made a big mistake though. He accepted it. Go Time

July 6, Live Pro Wrestling
Aug. 26th, 2008 | 03:37 pm
Live Pro Wrestling was presented at Lollies Restaurant in Dunnville On. My opponent was Scotty Turner. I was looking forward to the match because he is going to be a big player on the indy circuit for years to come. He is 20, in shape and hungry to be the best. We had a very good solid match and I must admit I was cocky thinking I could beat the young lad but he caught me with a roll up for the 1,2,3. I do hope that I get a rematch with him in the future because he is trying to get at the spot I am in now and I have to fend off the young lion for a bit. I shook his hand after and congratulated him on the victory. It will be different next time around. Go Time

July 5th Niagara Pro Wrestling
Aug. 26th, 2008 | 03:29 pm
I entered the Crystalridge community center and found out that I was in a 4 way elimination match with Kryss Thorn, Blackjack Phoenix and Ryot and the winner will be the first Niagara Pro Wrestling Heavyweight champion. I looked forward to this challenge and felt I had a very good chance walking out the champion.
Ryot was the first eliminated and Phoenix was thrown out of the ring by thorn and myself which left us 2 in the ring. I had recollection of our last encounter at RWI when he beat me and got fired from the company. We went at it like 2 bulls not wanting to lose and he did hit me with the Swanton. Phoenix nailed thorn with the clothesline from hell and eliminated thorn. Phoenix and I were left to battle and he caught me with a kick to the head and pinned me for the 1,2,3. I wonder what would of happened if Thorn had not landed the Swanton? Go Time.

OSPW May 3rd.
May. 19th, 2008 | 06:28 pm
May 3rd was a day I looked forward to. Lites Out were in action again and we were put in an old school survivor series match. We were not a part of this match very long as we had our sights set on the bone crushers. We are having a heated rivalry with this team and we know we can beat them. We took it to them and the fight escalated to the outside of the ring and right backstage where all the boys had to pull us apart. I hope the OSPW staff gives us the bone crushers again on July 19th in Buffalo. I have absolutely no problem getting in there again and finish business with them. We have our sites set at the OSPW Tag Team Championships.

RWI April 27th
May. 19th, 2008 | 06:18 pm
April 27th was the most important match of my entire wrestling career. I stepped into the ring with one of my best friends Kryss Thorn. This match had implications of one of us getting fired if we lose the match.
President Matt Ayres came into the ring holding on to the RWI Championship and made it a title match and the loser would be fired. We both had everything to gain and everything to lose. We both competed at a high level both wanting to win to not only be the RWI Champion but to save our job. We both had the match one at separate times but the slimeball infamous Jay Moore interfered thus justifying Thorn and myself hitting him off the ring.
We both went for the win and I gave Thorn a sick spike DDT. I went for my finisher and he rolled me up for the 1,2,3. I realized when that bell rang that my career in RWI after almost 7 years of faithful employment was over. I congratulated thorn and assured him that there are no hard feelings. I could not think of a better person to lose against to end my RWI career.
I just want to thank everyone who supported me over the years and never let anyone say that you can't do it.
